Enjoy Art’s ArtReach is a mobile program that has the ability to travel to places where teens are and bring them into a social setting where they can bond, receive positive attention, and develop healthy community values. ArtReach is an after school art program for at-risk youth ages 7- 18. The program is designed to provide mentoring and encourage community involvement while simultaneously providing kids with positive after school activities. Each lesson plan introduces teambuilding skills, demonstrates the importance of collaboration, and encourages enhanced communication skills both as a conduit to effective work and personal relationships. Participants are encouraged to share their experiences through various means including group dialogue, storytelling/comic style sketching, and painting. In addition, they are taught to contribute to the community at large by creating art that uplifts others; such as sympathy card designs for hospital patients, or dedication quilts for special community groups.
