My name is Jacqueline Payne. I spent most of my life in Gwinnett County, GA involved in competitive tennis and playing trumpet in my school's band program as well as the Atlanta Trumpet Ensemble. A music education major for one semester at GA State University, I am now pursuing an undergraduates degree in Public Policy Studies. I have always wanted to take an active role in improving the community where I live. Since moving there are for community involvement. I am very much a believer in less talking and more doing. In a time when there is a lot to talk about, the world would be a much better place if there was a little more "active" silence. |

| Calvin Hudgins AKA "Prophet27" is an amazingly talented 28 year old who started his own deisgn company Firebase27 which he drew from a dream he had where he was standing with God looking down on the earth and saw lights which were people doing good things or praying. Hudgins felt that the lights looked like firebases, and the goals of his business are to utilize his vocation to assist others in a fruitful way. Hudgins works with a wide array of mediums. His Midland home is a gallery of oil on canvas, lithography, charcoal, graphic and woodwork design he painted several murals in Lamesa with friend and artist Harry Hamlin. Hamlin has been serving a 40-year sentence for robbery since 1987, but he is released daily for work from the Dawson County Jail (Texas), he said. The pair worked with at- risk youth to paint several murals around Lamesa with requested images. Some of the images were Biblical scenes like Samson between pillars and three crosses on Golgotha hill. Some of his works contain obvious religious references, but Calvin Hudgins said he shares his faith with people in other ways. “I don’t cram Jesus down their throats,” Calvin Hudgins said. “It’s mostly in actions and example.” CLICK HERE TO GO TO HIS SPACE... |
Born in Wisconsin , Chester L. Hopper Jr. always had an enormous interest in the arts! As his interest grew, so did his imagination. When he turned 11 his father gave him a collection of art supplies and put them in a drawer for him to try at his leisure. Slowly but surely he tried them all…this marked the beginning a love affair with the arts and a passionate relationship that still thrives today. In the late 80’s Hopper founded Hopper’s Unique Inc. where he created, designed and marketed ethnic greeting cards, coloring books, children’s books and other products, while simultaneously maintaining a design studio. Hopper served as the Director of Cultural Arts for the Silver Spring Neighborhood Center and Instructor of the Arts for Turning Point Alternative School. While performing these duties Hopper worked with programs such as workshops for the Very Special Arts, Milwaukee Alternative Schools, Milwaukee Public Schools, Milwaukee Public Library and the Milwaukee Art Museum. Hopper translated his skills as director, instructor and entrepreneur into his role as Art Consultant for Milwaukee Area Technical College’ (MATC) Liberal Arts Department. Moving to Atlanta, Georgia Hopper has worked with the Atlanta Bureau of Cultural Affairs, Hands on Atlanta, Atlanta public Schools, Mable House Cultural Arts Center, Ernst&Young Llp, Lafaploosa, The Christopher Wallace Foundation and the list goes on. |
